A Journey through Union County’s History

First Presbyterian Church (now Siloam-Hope First Presbyterian Church), the oldest English-speaking congregation in New Jersey, and Snyder Academy in Elizabeth will provide guided and self-guided tours of the restored Revolutionary War burial grounds and campus that dates to Elizabeth’s beginnings.

The tour will include information about 313+ freed and enslaved African people buried in unmarked graves in the cemetery.

OCT. 21: Special historical presentations will be made by Dr. James Amemasor, Research Specialist at New Jersey Historical Society

OCT. 22: Revolutionary War era re-enactments by The Third New Jersey Regiment Music and games will also be provided
